The Lagos State Police Command has taken free medical services to members of the public at Computer Village, Ikeja, as part of activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week.

The outreach, held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Computer Village Under Bridge, provided residents, traders and other members of the community with free health screening, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, eye examinations, medical consultations and health counselling.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, saying the initiative was organised in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for police commands to mark the week.

Themed “Going Extra Miles,” the exercise was aimed at promoting people-oriented policing, improving service delivery and strengthening relations and public trust between the police and the communities they serve.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, expressed appreciation to residents, business owners, community leaders and other stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the state.

Fatai stressed that effective policing required the cooperation and feedback of members of the public, urging residents to continue to offer constructive criticism, complaints and suggestions on police service delivery.

According to him, such feedback would contribute to improved accountability, professionalism and public confidence in the Police.

The commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to serving residents with dedication, courtesy and professionalism, while ensuring that it remained willing to go the extra mile in delivering effective policing.

The outreach underscored the command’s effort to strengthen police-community relations by extending its public service initiatives beyond conventional security duties.
