JMG Limited and Trane Technologies have called for greater adoption of energy-efficient air-conditioning and climate-control systems as construction and industrial activities continue to expand in Nigeria.
The call was made on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, during The Big 5 Construct Nigeria 2026 in Lagos, where JMG’s Clima division, in partnership with Trane Technologies, showcased cooling solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Speaking at the event, Sales Leader, Nigeria and Ghana, Trane Air Conditioning, Vineeth Vijayan, said the growth in construction across the country was increasing demand for reliable and specialised cooling systems.
Vijayan said, “Buildings are going up, left, right and centre, and these buildings require cooling, specialised kinds of cooling and commercial cooling,” adding that Trane offers solutions for different cooling requirements.
Also speaking, Business Development Manager, HVAC, JMG Limited, Idoko Jonahs Adejoh, said the focus should not only be on installing cooling equipment but also on the cost of operating such systems over their lifespan.
According to him, JMG Clima’s partnership with Trane Technologies is aimed at providing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems that combine cooling performance with improved energy efficiency.
“JMG Clima has partnered with Trane Technologies to provide heating, ventilation and cooling systems to Nigeria, not just cooling systems, but cooling systems that are energy efficient,” Adejoh said.
He explained that although energy-efficient systems could require higher initial investment, their lower energy consumption could provide savings and better value over time.
“The initial investment into this might be a bit high, but in the long run, it cuts down on your energy consumption, giving you good value for your investment,” he said.
Adejoh’s position comes amid concerns over the cost of powering and maintaining commercial and industrial facilities, making energy consumption an important consideration in the selection of cooling systems.
Vijayan further said JMG’s relationship with Trane was also providing customers with support beyond the sale and installation of equipment.
“Customers are benefiting not really only on the sales aspect, but also on the after-sales aspect,” he said.
JMG Limited is the official distributor of Trane air-conditioning solutions in Nigeria, with the partnership covering cooling systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
The companies’ participation at The Big 5 Construct Nigeria 2026 underscores the growing role of climate-control technology in Nigeria’s expanding built environment, particularly as businesses and property developers seek solutions that combine performance, reliability and lower operating costs.
