The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man identified as Kola, following an allegation of sexual assault involving a 17-year-old boy in the state.

The teenager, accompanied by his parents, reportedly made the complaint at the Adigbe Police Division on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at about 5:00 p.m., following which the police commenced investigation.

According to a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the teenager alleged that Kola sexually assaulted him on three occasions in January 2026 and threatened him into silence.

Babaseyi said the teenager was subsequently taken to a hospital within the Adigbe axis for medical examination, while detectives commenced investigation into the allegation.

The police spokesperson said the suspect was currently at large, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, had ordered detectives to intensify efforts to locate and arrest him.

“The Command stresses that the matter only came to Police attention upon the report made on 8 September 2026,” Babasiyi said.

He added that the police were handling the matter with urgency, professionalism and sensitivity.

The Command assured the public of its commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable persons, while urging anyone with relevant information that could assist the investigation to make it available to the police.
