The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State has arrested a man identified as Femi Oni over the alleged theft of two motorcycles in Magbon, Imeke, Badagry.

Oni was arrested following a tip-off received by the community security outfit, which was empowered by the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, to strengthen security operations across the council area.

Speaking with journalists, the JTF Officer in Charge of Operations, Mr Adesina Lateef, said the suspect was arrested after the outfit received information about the alleged theft.

Lateef said Oni allegedly confessed during interrogation to stealing the two motorcycles in the same area at about 4am on Thursday.

According to him, the suspect also mentioned one Lekan as an alleged accomplice, adding that the said accomplice was currently at large.

The JTF officer said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect, while Oni and the recovered exhibits would be handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.

He assured residents that the JTF would continue to intensify its operations to safeguard lives and property across communities in Olorunda LCDA.

The security outfit has reportedly received additional operational support from the Ajose administration, including a vehicle and other operational materials, to enhance its capacity to respond to security challenges within the council area.
