Police Disown Viral Recruitment Training Notice, Warn Prospective Recruits

By Adebola Muili

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has disowned a publication circulating on social media directing prospective Police Constable recruits to report for training on September 18, 2026.

The Force described the publication as fake, warning prospective recruits and members of the public against relying on the information.

In a disclaimer issued by the Nigeria Police Force, the authorities said the purported notice did not emanate from the Force and should be disregarded.

“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to state that the said publication is not an official communication of the Force and should be disregarded,” the statement said.

The Force consequently advised all prospective trainees to rely solely on information communicated through their respective recruitment portals and the official communication channels of the Nigeria Police Force for verified updates concerning the recruitment and training exercise.

It further urged members of the public to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion or misleading prospective recruits.

The clarification comes amid the circulation of the purported September 18 training date on social media, which the police said should not be treated as an official directive.
