
The Olugbodi family of Ara Kingdom in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State has announced the passing of their matriarch, Mrs Grace Olabisi Olugbodi JP, fondly called “Extraordinary Grace,” at the age of 83.
The development was revealed in a press statement signed by her son, Asiwaju Dr Tunji Olugbodi, Executive Vice-Chairman of Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Group, and made available to journalists on Monday, April 18, 2026.
According to the statement, Mrs Olugbodi passed on on April 18, 2026, exactly one week after the burial of her husband of over 65 years, the late J.O. Olugbodi, who died on April 11, 2026.
The family described her as a woman of “extraordinary grace,” noting that she lived a fulfilled life marked by faith, resilience, and service to God and humanity.
“She was an exemplar of success, hard work, fortitude and a strong mindset that never backed down in the face of life’s challenges and vicissitudes,” the family said.

The statement further highlighted her role as a devoted mother who raised eight boys and one girl, as well as a mentor and pillar to many within her community and Christian fellowship.
It added that she remained a strong pillar of Christian faith, describing her life as a testament to service to God and transformation through Jesus Christ.
“She will be missed not only by her family but also by the many Christian brothers and sisters she loved, served and was a blessing to in her lifetime,” the statement added.
In his tribute, Dr Tunji Olugbodi said: “Though we mourn, we rejoice that she is now resting peacefully in the bosom of her Maker, reunited with her husband. She was indeed an extraordinary blessing.”
The funeral arrangements indicate that a Service of Songs and Tributes will hold on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Union Baptist Church, Osogbo, Osun State.
The funeral service and interment will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Ara Kingdom, at 11 a.m.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
