Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader, on Israeli TV Channel 1

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed how he escaped during the military clamp down on the group.

In an interview with Israeli TV Channel 1, Kanu said he was “smuggled out” of the country with the help of relatives.

IPOB was the target of a Nigerian Army operation code-named Operation Python Dance, launched in the South East.

While the group was banned, Kanu went out of public glare until two weeks ago, when a video of him in Israel resurfaced on social media.

In the interview, Kanu alleged that 28 persons were killed during the army operation, which was largely felt around his father’s residence in Umuahia, Abia State.

He said: “When I came out (of prison), I continued to preach to my people and continued to practise my Jewish religion.

“And, one day, the Nigerian army came to my house to kill me. They killed 28 people in their attempt to kill me.

“My people evacuated me before they came to my bedroom. They took me away and smuggled me out of Nigeria.

“I needed some time to recover, which I did and, then, had to make my way to Israel.”

The IPOB leader added that he feels “relieved” that he “managed to make it” to Israel, “the only place I feel safe in the world”

Buhari Is Dead, IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Alleges

Meanwhile Nnamdi Kanu, was reported to have said Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is dead.

In a live broadcast via radio Biafra on Saturday, the IPOB leader alleged that a certain Jubril from Sudan is the one acting as Nigeria’s President.

The pro-Biafra activist alleged that President Buhari died in Saudi Arabia on January 27, 2017.

“Buhari died in Saudi Arabia, they went to bring that thing from Sudan to rule the zoo. I will unmask Jubril next month,” the IPOB leader said.

“Buhari died 27 of January 2017, that thing in Aso Rock does it look like Buhari? Can’t you see his fingers? The pro-Biafra activist asked.

Kanu furthered that “they can deceive you but they can’t deceive IPOB. If you give me referendum I will leave you alone but if you don’t give me referendum I will tear the zoo apart,” Kanu said.

The IPOB leader, who spoke from his base in Jerusalem, Israel, noted that “Dave Umahi and Ohanaeze Ndigbo proscribed IPOB”, noting that they came to kill him on the 14th of September last year after he agreed a rescheduled meeting with the Southeast governors.

“We are helping every other Nigerians,” Kanu said on the activities of the IPOB, advising Nigerians to “cripple the 2019 elections and you will see the kind of miracle it will perform in your life”, Kanu was heard saying.
