The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force over the death of crew members and passengers in the 931 aircraft accident at Igbokoda, Ondo State.

Fatai expressed his condolences when he paid a visit to the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Lagos, on Wednesday, where he met with the Commander, 651 Base, Air Commodore M. A. Imam.

The condolence visit, according to the Lagos State Police Command, was in solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force and the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 8, 2026.

Adebisi said the Commissioner of Police prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved families, the deceased persons’ colleagues and the entire Nigerian Air Force community.

She added that Fatai reaffirmed the Lagos State Police Command’s solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force and other sister security agencies at the difficult time.

According to her, the Commissioner also underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation and mutual support among security agencies, particularly during periods of tragedy and crisis.

The visit, she said, reflected the Police Command’s support for the Nigerian Air Force and the affected families following the loss.
