The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has condoled with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the aircraft crash in Ondo State which claimed the lives of some personnel of the force and others.
The NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), expressed the condolence in a letter addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the agency said in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday by its Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
Marwa described the crash as devastating, saying the loss of the officers was a major blow to the Nigerian Air Force, the country and the national security community.
He commended the NAF for what he described as its patriotism, gallantry and commitment to the defence and security of the nation.
According to him, the personnel who lost their lives had dedicated themselves to national service, making their death a painful loss to the Air Force and the country.
“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” Marwa said.
He prayed for God to comfort the bereaved families, strengthen the Nigerian Air Force and grant the deceased eternal rest.
Marwa also assured the Air Force of the solidarity of the NDLEA and its personnel during the period of mourning.
