Aburime Receives National Excellence Award For Strategic Communication

The Chief Press Secretary to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Mr Christian Aburime, has received the Award of National Excellence in Strategic Communication and Public Service.

Aburime received the recognition at the 10th National Leadership Integrity and Development Summit and Awards 2026, organised by the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE) in partnership with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

The award was presented at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, during the summit, which was held as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary.

Aburime, who was represented at the event by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Productions, Mr Ejike Abana, dedicated the award to Governor Soludo and the people of Anambra State.

The recognition was in acknowledgement of his contributions to strategic communication and public service, particularly in communicating the policies, programmes and development agenda of the Soludo administration.

The summit, with the theme, “Making Nigeria Work Through Trusted Leadership, Working Institutions, Economic Growth, Sustainable Development and National Security,” featured keynote addresses and panel discussions on leadership, institutional effectiveness, accountability and sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director of CECOE, Dr Owah David, said making Nigeria work required deliberate action and collective commitment to the ideals upon which the country was founded.

Chairman of the occasion, Dr Rabiu Olowo, stressed the need for strong institutions to complement capable leadership, noting that sustainable development must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Co-Chairman of the event, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, described national development as a shared responsibility involving leaders, institutions and citizens.

Abejide also commended the economic reforms of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, including subsidy removal and the redirection of resources towards productive sectors.

He expressed optimism that the reforms would create opportunities for increased manufacturing and foreign direct investment in the country.
