The Ondo State Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Mr Tairu Amuda, has congratulated teachers across the state on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
Amuda, in a statement issued on Sunday to commemorate the annual celebration, described teachers as nation builders whose contributions extend beyond classroom instruction to shaping minds and building character.
He commended teachers for their dedication, selflessness and resilience in the discharge of their responsibilities, saying their commitment remained vital to the development of the education sector and the nation.
The ASUSS chairman urged teachers not to relent in their service, assuring them that their sacrifices and contributions to national development would not go unrewarded.
He expressed appreciation to teachers for their commitment and sacrifices, saying, “Thank you for your commitment, sacrifices and priceless contribution to education.”
Amuda also wished teachers greater fulfilment and success in their profession, urging them to continue to find joy in their purpose.
World Teachers’ Day is observed annually on October 5 to celebrate teachers and recognise their contributions to education and society.
