Polaris Bank has announced plans to celebrate the 2026 Customer Service Week from October 5 to 9, with a renewed commitment to strengthening customer relationships and improving service delivery.
The bank disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying the celebration, themed “The Extra Mile,” would provide an opportunity to appreciate customers, recognise employees who demonstrate exceptional service and reinforce customer-centricity across the organisation.
According to Polaris Bank, this year’s theme reflects its commitment to placing customers at the heart of its operations and ensuring that their banking experience continues to improve.
Speaking ahead of the celebration, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Bank, Kayode Lawal, said customers remained central to the bank’s growth and service strategy.
“Customers are at the heart of everything we do. Their feedback, trust and partnership challenge us to keep improving and delivering value every day.
“Customer Service Week is an opportunity to recognise that relationship and remind ourselves that great service must go beyond expectation,” Lawal said.
The bank said going the extra mile in customer service could involve listening more closely to customers, resolving issues faster, providing clearer information, anticipating customer needs, simplifying processes and showing genuine empathy.
It added that the commitment would extend across its physical and digital touchpoints, including its branches, business network, contact centre and digital banking platform, VULTe.
Polaris Bank said it would engage customers and recognise service champions through a series of activities across its branches, digital channels and other customer touchpoints during the week.
The bank also said it would use the occasion to encourage customer feedback and strengthen the connection between customer insights and continuous improvement in service delivery.
Polaris Bank said its Customer Service Week celebrations had evolved over the years, with previous editions focusing on teamwork, service excellence, customer appreciation and employees’ ability to overcome challenges in delivering quality customer experiences.
It noted that the 2025 celebration, themed “Mission: Possible,” emphasised employees’ ability to overcome challenges and deliver exceptional experiences, while the 2023 theme, “Team Service,” highlighted the role of collaboration in delivering seamless customer experiences.
The bank also recalled its reported recognition in the 2022 KPMG Customer Experience Survey as the most improved bank in the retail segment, moving five places to sixth position.
Polaris Bank said it remained committed to making exceptional customer service an everyday practice rather than a once-a-year celebration.
It added that “The Extra Mile” was more than a Customer Service Week theme, describing it as a commitment to making every customer interaction count.
