LASTMA honours three officers for outstanding performance

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has honoured three of its officers for exceptional commitment to duty, professional excellence and contributions to effective traffic management in the state.

The officers — Ajayi Bembe Babatunde, Zonal Head, Zone B; Adebanjo Alade, Comptroller, Apapa; and Age Luqman, Zonal Head, Bariga/Iyana-Oworo — received the “Award of Outstanding Exemplary Performance” from City Herald Magazine.

The presentation was held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the LASTMA Headquarters, Oshodi, Lagos, with officials of the agency and representatives of the magazine in attendance.

According to the organisers, the award was in recognition of the officers’ dedication to duty, professionalism and sustained commitment to the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, while presenting the awards, commended City Herald Magazine for recognising and celebrating outstanding personnel within the Authority.

Bakare-Oki said the recognition was an affirmation of the efforts of LASTMA officers who work under demanding conditions to facilitate effective traffic management, promote road safety and improve the motoring experience across Lagos.

He noted that recognising individual excellence would further strengthen the Authority’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, discipline and public service.

The LASTMA boss also commended the three recipients for distinguishing themselves through diligence and commitment, stressing that excellence in public service should be measured by the quality, integrity and impact of an officer’s performance.

He expressed optimism that the recognition would motivate other personnel to rededicate themselves to selfless service, professional probity and operational excellence.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity for officials of LASTMA and City Herald Magazine to celebrate the contribution of the awardees to public service and traffic management in Lagos.
