President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively ahead of the January 2027 presidential election.
The State House, in a statement issued on Saturday, announced the composition of the council, naming former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary.
APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, was also named Vice Chairman, while APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
The council will be supported by a team of advisers comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, were appointed Deputy Directors-General for the southern and northern zones.
They will work with Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau in the two zones.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole was appointed Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will serve as Deputy Director-General for Administration.
James Abiodun Faleke, who played a pivotal role in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, also returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
He will work with zonal directors, including Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.
For the legal directorate, Muiz Adeyemi Banire was appointed Director, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies. Other members include the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, will coordinate the media and strategic communication directorate, working with Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka were named coordinating deputy directors, while Abdulaziz AbdulAziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor will serve as coordinating secretaries.
Segun Dada returns as Director of New Media, the same position he held during the 2022 campaign, with Solomon Arowolo appointed Secretary, New Media.
The campaign has also appointed five spokespersons, led by Dele Alake. Others are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
The State House said President Tinubu had charged members of the council to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections.
He also urged leaders of the various directorates to reach out to other party members who may not have been formally listed but could contribute to the campaign.
According to the statement, Tinubu said his administration had delivered on its campaign promises and placed the country on a path of economic progress.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress,” the President said.
“As we march into the campaign season, we have many achievements to trumpet—let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation. Let us soundly defeat all those forces who plan to take our country backwards.”
The unveiling of the campaign council marks a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, with the ruling party expected to intensify its mobilisation and campaign activities ahead of the polls.
